Obituary of Lloyd Reginald Shirah
Mr. Lloyd Reginald “Reggie” Shirah, 73, a resident of Auburndale passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale surrounded by his family. Mr. Shirah was born November 30, 1950 in Moultrie, Georgia to Lloyd George and Sarah Kathleen (Banks) Shirah. He was a resident of Auburndale since 1954 coming from Georgia. He graduated from Winter Haven High School and was a member of Berea Baptist Church in Auburndale. Reggie was a United States Army Veteran serving in Vietnam, Indo China & Korea as a Paratrooper. He retired from Publix after 20 years of service and also retired after 21 ½ years from SunTrust as a Facilities Maintenance Person. Reggie coached softball and was a softball pitching coach. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time in Tennessee on his land and loved to spend time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother – Perry Randolph Shirah and nephew – Vaughn Shirah. Reggie is survived by his loving family, wife of 52 years – Liz Shirah; son – Reginald “Scott” (Betty) Shirah; daughter – Tera Elizabeth (Buddy) Fussell; brother – William Rudolph (Shirley) Shirah; 3 nephews – Dale, Wade and Randy; 3 nieces – Camie, Michelle and Valerie; 6 grandchildren – Austin, Savannah (Josh), Steven, Matthew, Holton and Haegen; 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11am Friday, March 29th at Kersey Funeral Home with visitation before from 10-11am. Interment with military honors will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
